What happens if I am unable to complete within the Cut-Off time?

As we hope that all our athletes will be able to complete the race, even if it takes longer than the Cut-Off time, we will only enforce the Cut-off times on the bike course due to safety reasons.

Is this a drafting race?

This is a non-Drafting Race. Participants need to be out of the drafting zone of another participant during their bike leg.

The drafting zone is defined as a rectangular area 7 meters long (23 feet) by 2 meters wide (6 feet 6 inches) surrounding each bicycle. The longer sides of the zone begin at the leading edge of the front wheel and run backward parallel to the bicycle; the front wheel divides the short side of the zone into two equal parts, each being one meter wide.

A participant may enter the drafting zone of another cyclist without penalty, if he or she enters the drafting zone from the rear, closes the gap and overtakes the leading cyclist all within no more than 15 seconds. Anyone caught longer in the draft zone will face a penalty.

How does the Team Relay work?

Each Team Relay can have 2 participants.

With 2 participants, one participant will complete 2 legs while the second will do 1 leg of the race.

1 Timing Chip will be passed between participants. All hand offs will need to be completed at the Timing Chip Team Relay tent at Transition.

What are the mandatory equipment required?
All participants must have the following:
1 x Working and serviced bicycle (see allowed bikes for reference)
1 x Cycling Helmet during cycling at all times
1 x Cycling Shoes (optional, you may cycle with your running shoes)
1 x 750ml Water bottle on bicycle (if you can have 2, that would be great)
1 x Front and Back lights (if your wave starts before 6.30am)
1 x Running Shoes (No bare-feet or slippers will be allowed at all times)
1 x Race Belt (optional) to hold your running bib.

If you are in a team relay, each participant should follow what they require based on their leg. (Run or Cycle)

We encourage you to bring along a cap and sunglasses during the run as it gets hot later in the mid-morning.

You would need to have your race bibs, wrist tags and body marking numbers worn at the correct times.

You may have a Smart/Sports watch to track your required distances.
