From 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, participants will test their skills, patience, and strategies to reel in the biggest catches in this one-of-a-kind fishing showdown.

Fishing Competition Terms and Rules

Welcome to our exciting fishing competition! Please read the following terms and rules carefully to ensure a fun and fair event for everyone.


Participation Rules

  1. The competition is open to all, except staff and family members of Jetty Marina Lumut and the Organizer.
  2. Participation is limited to 2,000 participants only. To secure your spot, each entry must include a copy of your identity card during reporting on the competition day.
  3. The participation fee is RM120.00 per rod. Payment is final and non-refundable, except where management deems otherwise. By making payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.

Competition Format

  1. Winners will be determined by the weight of the fish caught and the time of capture.
  2. All fish are eligible, except Bolos, Sesirat, and shelled species.

Fishing Gear and Bait Rules

  1. Prohibited items include:
    • Treble hooks
    • Sea bass floats
    • Artificial baits, Rapalas, poppers, or Apollos
    • Floats, corks, or pieces of slippers
    • Additional devices like bait launchers, drones, or remote-controlled boats
  2. Each rod is limited to two (2) hooks, and the use of bait is mandatory.

Competition Conditions

  1. All fish caught must be verified by the Marshall before weighing. Unverified catches will be disqualified.
  2. Fish will only be weighed once. If a fish is lost before verification, the Marshall will decide based on the situation.
  3. Sticker Placement: Participants must place a sticker on their rod (between the reel and the first ring). Catches with rods without stickers will be disqualified.
  4. Fishing is allowed only in designated areas. Catches outside these areas will not count.
  5. Safety is your own responsibility. Please look out for yourself, your family, and others.
  6. Participants are not allowed to enter the water to cast or retrieve fish beyond knee level.

Fair Play and Disqualification

  1. Participants found cheating or attempting to cheat will be disqualified immediately and blacklisted from future events.
  2. Rods must have the official competition sticker throughout the event.

Objections

  1. Objections can be made during the competition or within 15 minutes after it ends. A RM500 fee applies (non-refundable if the objection is rejected).
  2. Protests must include evidence (e.g., photos, videos, witnesses) and be supported by two competition participants who were at the incident location.

Stakes and Tents

  1. Stakes may only be installed after registration. Stakes must have a sticker provided by the organizer.
  2. All types of stakes are allowed except those made of twigs or tree branches.
  3. Participants are not allowed to spray paint or use flour to mark their fishing locations.

Safety and Other Conditions

  1. While we will take precautions, participation is at your own risk. Please ensure you are in good health before joining.
  2. If you feel unwell or tired, stop fishing and inform the medical staff on-site.
  3. The organizer is not responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of property during the event.
  4. In case of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., bad weather), no refunds will be provided. However, participants can join one (1) future Joran King event.
  5. By registering, you agree to let us use your data for marketing and planning purposes.
